Garden Center Abloom

Brighten Your Day by Visiting Us for a Taste of Summer

Tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, geraniums, hydrangea, figs, blueberries...the list keeps going - there are so many wonderful plants that can grow in your yard or porch starting in May. Come by the Jacavone Garden Center on Atwood Avenue in Johnston for some seeds, seedlings, transplants, shrubs, trees or advice from our expert gardening staff. We grow and carry fine plants from Monrovia, Simply Beautiful, Proven Winners and Burpee.

May and June are the heart of the garden season in Rhode Island. Every week, new plants are ready for the outdoors. Starting at the beginning of May, we have annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, flowers, shrubs and trees available.

Mid-May is the perfect time to plant tomatoes. On warm days, we want to plant everything, but keep in mind that the ground is still cool and while you can plant tomatoes in early May, it will not increase the time to harvest, nor the size or quantity of your yield. Stop by and we'll help you choose plants that will look great in your yard and can also handle our weather at any time.

Questions to Ask Yourself:

What do I want growing this summer?

What do I want to harvest from my yard?

Do I want a cutting garden?

Do I want flowers that come back year after year?

Stop in to let us help you find solutions for your garden!
